Mushroom Pulao Recipe

Mushroom pulao with step by step procedure which is easy, tasty and healthy. This is the best lunch recipe you can have in our regular diet. Mushroom is very rich in fiber, protein and vitamin B. It always good to have such veggies in our regular dishes.

This recipe is prepared on stove top with out using pressure cooker. I like to do pulao/biryani in pan which will be similar to restaurant style and I promise there will not be any left over of the dish.

Easy mushroom pulao recipe is tasty , healthy and goes well with raitha or curry.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup basmathi rice
  • 1 cup mushroom sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 1 capsicum small cubed
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/4 tsp ginger chopped
  • 1 or 2 garlic
  • 2 tsp mint leaves chopped
  • 1 tsp coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cup water
Spicy Powders
  • 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
Whole spices
  • 1 cardamom
  • 2 clove
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf
Instructions
  1. Boil water in pan with 1 tsp of salt and keep aside.

  2. Add sliced mushroom in boiled water and keep aside for 15 min.

  3. Soak basmathi rice for 30 min.

  4. Coarsely grind ginger,garlic, green chilli in blender or motor and pestle.

  5. Heat ghee in a pan add whole spices and saute for few seconds.

  6. Add ginger garlic green chilli paste and saute for few seconds.

  7. Now add chopped onion, capsicum and fry for a minute then add tomatoes.

  8. It’s time to spice up the dish , add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder mix well and saute till tomato turns soft.

  9. Then add chopped mint leaves, coriander leaves ,sliced mushrooms mix well.

  10. Now add soaked basmathi rice mix well for a minute and add 1 ½ cup water, salt,lemon juice.

  11. Close the lid and do not escape steam from the lid. Let it cook for 15 minutes and simmer it for 5 min.

  12. Delicious mushroom pulao is ready to serve with raitha or gravy.

 Step by step procedure

Note:

  • Adjust the quantity of green chilli and red chilli powder according to your requirement.
  • Mushroom should be added to boiled salt water to clean well.
  • Basmathi rice should be soaked in water for 30 minutes to get long grainy rice.
  • Steam should not the escaped from the pan lid. So cover the hole with aluminum foil or chapathi dough.
  • Instead of mushroom you can add any other veggies.
